Mr. Christopher Ewald is in his 16th year as Director of the Learwood Middle School Bands in Avon Lake, Ohio and 23rd year as a band director. Mr. Ewald directs the 7th Grade Concert Band, 8th Grade Concert Band, Middle School Jazz Ensemble, Middle School Percussion Ensemble, and coaches solo and ensemble performances. His other teaching responsibilities include 7th Grade General Music, 8th Grade General Music, and Assistant Director of the Avon Lake High School Marching Band. Mr. Ewald previously taught high school and middle school band in the Keystone Local School District in LaGrange, Ohio.
Mr. Ewald earned his Bachelor of Music degree from Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio and his Master of Music degree from the University of Akron. He studied bassoon with Jeffrey Lyman, Renee Dee, and Nancy Lutes. He has performed with various ensembles, including the Patriots Community Band, the North Royalton Community Band, and directed the Fairview Park Community Band.
Mr. Ewald is a member of the Ohio Music Education Association, the National Association for Music Education, and the American School Band Directors Association.
